We have raced from the moment the starting gun went “bang!” on the 10th of August, 2018. Many Fantasy Football managers were full of enthusiasm and energy in the first 50 meters but lost focus soon after and by December 2018, they had even forgotten they were ever in a race.
Some other managers gave in to their thirst too early in the race and quenched their chips long before the mid-way point. We also saw managers who raced into an early lead until fatigue quickly set in. However, despite the exhausting nature of this FPL race, most of us are still in the running for various milestones as we hit the home stretch.
Before proceeding further, let us applaud those who ran the best times in January and February.
Manager of the Month for January
Yinka Elegbede led his GraZioMic FC crew to an unmatchable 261 points and performed a Mic drop before exiting the stage. He is well on course for promotion from League 2A.
Manager of the Month for February
Trevor Smith ”Oneunitedfan trev” bolted past everybody in February with his total of 316 points. This United fan definitely knows how to handle a wheel. He is topping League 2A and cruising his way to League 1 promotion.
Less than 8 games to go and the muscles are getting stretched on the home stretch. The battle at the top of League 1 is fierce. It involves one of the McIvor Clan members (surprise surprise!) facing off against one of our regular top contenders. Chris McIvor and his ”Bite of Suarez” squad are holding onto a tasty 6 point lead over Ahmed Alawami’s “Silence of the Lahm”.
In the FootieFantasy Money League, Justice Akuchi definitely did NOT tiki taka his way to the top. His ”RIP Tiki Taka” team are also only 6 points ahead of Adesola Adigun’s ”11 G.O.A.T”. With a lot of prize money at stake, it would be fascinating to find out if the goats headbutt their way to 1st place by the end of Gameweek 38.
In the Head to Head Draft League, there are actually no points separating first from second. Mohamed Husain and DrSaikat Chakraborty are both locked on 66 points. Their teams, ”Jota Salah” and ”Kloppers Inc” are certainly going head to head in every sense.
The promotion and relegation battles are still raging away and the images below would indicate that fact. Some managers have almost guaranteed their ascent into the top league while League 2 calleth for some others. Make sure to stay tuned for further updates as the finish line draws ever closer.
*Bottom 20 in League 1 get relegated. Top 10 from League 2A and League 2B get promoted. Top 4 in League 1 qualify for Champions League. Top 8 in Classic Head to Head League qualify for knock-out rounds*
